blkcory’s Christmas Albums List

– blkcory

One of the best parts of the holiday season is the Christmas music. Some people really hate it (often those that just don’t like to be happy at any point in the year) but those that love it know the right Christmas album can change the game. Everyone knows Mariah Carey’s “Merry Christmas” album so I wanted to give you guys a list of some of my personal favourites that I feel don’t get the appreciation they deserve. Here’s blkcory’s favourite Christmas albums list.

Jackson 5 – Christmas Album

Fam we’re talking about Michael, Jackie, Tito, Jermaine and Marlon! Do you understand the magnitude of this squad providing us with a Christmas album?! This thing came out in 1970 and still plays in your local department store every holiday season. It has to make the list, there’s no way around it. It’s a hard album.

Standout Songs: Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, The Christmas Song, Frosty the Snowman, Christmas Won’t Be The Same This Year, Give Love On Christmas, I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus

N’Sync – Home For Christmas

This is one of the best Christmas albums from one of the best groups known to man. In the history of mankind, only a few were selected to carry the burden of making legendary music. N’Sync is one of those few. Front to back this album is fire. Hands down my favourite Christmas album. If I don’t play this thing when I’m putting up my Christmas tree is it even Christmas? The answer is no fam.

Standout Songs: Home for Christmas, Under My Tree, I Never Knew The Meaning of Christmas, Merry Christmas Happy Holidays, I Guess It’s Christmas Time, All I Want Is You (This Christmas)

Destiny’s Child – 8 Days of Christmas

Number 2 on my list of greatest Christmas albums of all time. Destiny’s Child is eternal fam. Do you hear the sync and drums on this thing? How does this album still slap* today? Mans wanna know fam. Beyonce, Kelly, Michele…just a dangerous trio man.

Standout Songs: 8 Days of Christmas, A “DC” Christmas Medley, Do You Hear What I Hear?, Spread A Little Love on Christmas Day, This Christmas, Carol of the Bells aka Opera of the Bells

Céline Dion – These Are Special Times

Celine Dion is a national treasure and should be respected as such! This album slaps too. You hear her voice fam? I just want to know if you hear her voice. You can play this thing for anybody and they’ll appreciate it. I can make generalized statements like this if we’re talking about Celine Dion.

Standout Songs: O Holy Night, Don’t Save It All For Christmas Day, Blue Christmas, Another Year Has Gone By, Ave Maria, The Prayer, These Are Special Times, Happy Xmas, Les Cloches du Hameau

Bryson Tiller – A Different Christmas

This is very new in comparison to the other albums on this list but it goes hard I can’t lie. This album was a lot better than I expected. I might have to start rating Bryson a lot more than I do. From the intro, I was into it. Solid effort here.

Standout Songs: be mine this christmas, presents, lonely christmas, ain’t a lonely christmas song

Chance the Rapper & Jeremih – Merry Christmas Lil Mama: The Gift That Keeps On Giving

Now I really didn’t like Chance’s debut album but this Christmas album got him back in his bag. From the jump on “The Return”, Chance does exactly what I appreciated about his rapping: him not overbearingly talking about his significant other. Love yours but make it enjoyable man. Chance and Jeremih together put out a Chicago Christmas classic.

Standout Songs: The Return, All The Way, Snowed In, Held It Down, Let it Snow, Stranger at the Table, One More Cry, Who’s To Say, Big Kid Again

Well there you have it, a list with enough albums to spread some holiday cheer. Hope you guys enjoy them!
